The Nigerian Police Force has arrested two suspected kidnappers in Benue state, North Central Nigeria.
This is according to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBA.
The statement disclosed that the suspects were responsible for the kidnap of a Medical Doctor, Audu Benedict, his son and one of his associates in Katsina-ala LGA, Benue State while travelling from Taraba State to Abuja on 10th March 2019.
25-year-old Henry Terkula Gwa, and 30-year-old Terhile Tsavbe, both from Benue State, were arrested on the 6th and 11th June 2020 following intense search for the victims and manhunt for the perpetrators.
The criminal gang collected 7.5million naira ransom from the families of the victims as condition for their release, also forced the late Dr Audu Benedict to issue them a cheque of 500,000 naira which they cashed in a commercial bank in the state and subsequently killed the three victims.
In the meantime, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has assured that the battle against criminal elements in the country is a continuous one, calling for all hands to be on deck in order to attain victory.
