The Armed Forces of Nigeria says Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole has carried out a counter attack against the terrorists, killing some high ranking Commanders of the Abubakar Shekau’s faction of the Boko Haram terrorist’ group.
Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. John Enenche in a statement released on Wednesday said the incident was after the terrorists’ failed attack on troops’ at Banki Junction and Response Area Firgi within the 7 Division Strike Group.
The statement listed Manzar Halid, Amir Abu Fatima and Nicap among the Boko Haram Terrorists and ISWAP Commanders killed.
It added that seventy two members of the sect were also neutralised and others wounded with narrow chances of survival, including some high profile Commanders and fighters namely Abu Jamratu AL-Naweer, Kaka Bana and Tareta Babakari.
The statement disclosed that the troops in collaboration with the Air Task Force also destroyed large number of their equipment, which include gun trucks, motorcycles and bicycles.
