Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari is assuring Nigerians that the Presidency is working to put an end to banditry in the country, as incidents escalate in Katsina state, north-west Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement made available on Twitter by the President’s Media Aide, Garba Sehu.
Buhari assures Nigerians, that the nation’s armed forces are fully capable of dealing with the challenges of banditry and terrorism.
While urging Katsina residents not to give up on the military, Buhari said taking to the streets for protest could distract the military operations.
The President said major forests in North-Western Nigeria have been identified as home to the bandits in the region, adding that the operation will clear all the forests.
