NIGERIA TO EVACUATE THIRD BATCH OF STRANDED CITIZENS IN THE US

The consulate of Nigeria in New York is preparing for the third evacuation flight for stranded Nigerians in the United States of America.

The flight is expected to leave New Wark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey on the night Friday, July 17 to arrive Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital the next day being Saturday, in the afternoon.

The Nigerian consulate has asked all prospective evacuees duly registered with the Nigerian missions in the USA to purchase their one-way ticket from Ethiopian airline website, which is 1,250 dollars economy class and 2,800 dollars for Business class.

All prospective evacuees who purchased tickets are expected to forward their names, phone numbers, contact address of their next of kin in Nigeria to the consulate for confirmation

It is also a must for the evacuees to present an original #COVID-19 negative test result at the airport of departure and undergo a temperature test four hours before departure.

While any intending evacuee whose body temperature is above 38 degrees centigrade or has symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 will not be allowed to check-in, those allowed to board are required to possess a hand sanitizer for intermittent use during the journey and wear face masks.
