President Muhammadu Buhari today received a comprehensive report on the political situation in Mali from former President Goodluck Jonathan who is the ECOWAS Special Envoy to Mali
Regarding the way forward, Buhari said the President of Niger, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS will be asked to brief the bloc as a group.
As the sub-regional bloc seeks a lasting solution to the leadership crisis in the country, former Nigerian President led a special team to Mali.
After the meeting today with President Buhari at the State House, Jonathan told journalists that negotiation with the opposition in Mali continues.
He is hopeful that a unity government will bring an end to the leadership crisis, explaining that only democratic processes will be adhered to while trying to end the crisis.
