Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, south-south Nigeria, says he has not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election.
The announcement was contained in a statement on the Governor’s twitter handle.
He said his focus now is to control the spread of the #COVID19 pandemic ravaging the country and threatening the healthcare system.
Obaseki formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC on Tuesday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
His decision to resign came four days after he was disqualified from participating in the APC primary election ahead of the September 19 governorship poll in Edo State on the grounds that his certificates could not be vouched for.
