HOUSE WADES INTO NGIGE-NSIT MATTER

REPS TO REVIEW LEGISLATIVE AGENDA

The House of Representatives on Tuesday adopted a motion to investigate the incessant and arbitrary breach of the presidential directive on the suspension of top management and executive personnel of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF and other government agencies.

Lawmaker, Leke Abejide, moved a motion on the suspension of top management and executive personnel of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF by the Minister of Labour and it was seconded by Shehu Koko.

Abejide said the Minister’s directive was done without the President’s approval, so, it is illegal and should be reversed forthwith.

The lawmaker called for the constitution of an Ad-Hoc Committee to fully investigate the circumstances and report back to the House within one week.
