BUHARI APPOINTS KANGIWA EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF NCPWD

BUHARI SIGNS AFRICAN TRADE INSURANCE AGENCY INSTRUMENT

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.

This announcement was made in a statement on Facebook by the Special Adviser to Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, saying that the appointment was in line with the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2019.

According to the Act, the Executive Secretary, who shall be responsible to the Council for the implementation of the policies and administration of the daily affairs of the Commission, shall also be a Person with Disability with a five-year tenure in the first instance and may be reappointed for a second term and no more while other members of the governing body would be allowed a tenure of four years each with a second renewable term.

Other members of the commission’s management include Oparaku Onyejelam Jaja, Philomena Isioma Konwea, Omopariola Busuyi Oluwasola, Amina Rahma Audu, Esther Andrew Awu, Abba Audu Ibrahim, James David Lalu.
