The Immediate past Oyo state, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has died after battling COVID-19 complications for a month.
Ajimobi died at 70 at a First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos where he was hospitalized since June 2, 2020.
The news of his death was disclosed on twitter by a Lawmaker Representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Oloye Akin Alabi,
Ajimobi was the first Oyo governor to win a second term in office and governed between 2011 and 2019.
He was named the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress last month but could not resume office due to his illness.
