Today is International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The day, marked every June 26, highlights the dangers of drug abuse and brings awareness to people on how to deal with it.
The goal of the day is to strengthen global action and cooperation towards creating a society that is free from drug abuse and unlawful drug trade.
According to the United Nations, Global drug use is on the rise, calling on all countries to tackle illicit drug trafficking and offer evidence-based services for drug use disorders.
The theme for this year is Better Knowledge for Better Care
