RESIDENT DOCTORS SETS TO EMBARK ON STRIKE FROM MONDAY

DOCTORS

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors is threatening to begin another nationwide strike starting from September 7.

The announcement was made in a statement jointly signed by the association’s President, Aliyu Sokomba; Secretary, Bilqis Mohammad, and the Publicity Secretary, Egbogu Stanley.

The doctors are demanding implementation of residency funding, COVID-19 allowance, hazard allowance as well as the outstanding salary shortfall of 2014, 2015, and 2016 from the Federal Government.

According to the statement, the strike would commence after the 21-day ultimatum it gave to the Federal Government elapsed on August 17.
