Zimbabwean doctors have filed a lawsuit to compel the government to beef up coronavirus protection for public hospitals and healthcare workers.
Zimbabwe has so far recorded 10 cases of Coronavirus infection, with one death.
The doctors say the government had failed to put in place “measures to ensure that health practitioners across the country, who include nurses, nurse aides and pharmacists are adequately protected”.
The case being led by the Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights also raised alarm over the scarcity of quarantine and isolation facilities.
Doctors and nurses had last month protested lack of protective clothing to care for coronavirus patients and a hearing date is yet to be set.
